Mumbai News: A shooting incident occurred in Chembur on Wednesday night, targeting a local builder. Sadruddin Khan, aged 50, was driving his Land Rover when two gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire at him.

The attack took place around 9:30 PM while Khan was stopped at a traffic signal at the busy Diamond Garden junction. The assailants fired at least three shots, one of which grazed Khan’s face. After the initial shots, they chased his vehicle for nearly a kilometre until reaching Maitri Park, on the way to Trombay.

Khan, a resident of Belapur in Navi Mumbai, was heading towards Panvel when he was ambushed. However, he was treated for minor injuries following the incident. Police recovered two bullets from his car, while a third bullet, believed to have been fired while the shooters were pursuing him, is still unaccounted for.

The Hindustan Times report cited Deputy Commissioner of Police Navnath Dhavale, from Zone 6, as confirming the details, stating, “Two shooters on a bike targeted a builder while he was waiting at a traffic signal. They managed to escape, and we are actively searching for them.”

Authorities quickly cordoned off the crime scene and forensic teams were dispatched to gather evidence. Multiple police units have been established to locate the gunmen. Officers are also conducting checks on vehicles at the borders of Mumbai and Thane, as well as at entry points in Navi Mumbai.

An attempt to murder case will be filed against unidentified suspects at the Chembur police station, according to a senior police official.
