Mumbai Local Train: Services Disrupted On Central Railway Due To Rail Fracture
Commuters on the Central Railway’s main line faced significant disruption on Tuesday, November 18, when a rail fracture was detected on the down slow line between Vikhroli and Kanjurmarg stations at 7:32 AM, news agency PTI reported.
The rail fracture delayed trains by 10 to 20 minutes, causing inconvenience to the passengers. However, the railway team promptly addressed the fracture and restored normal operations.
Swapnil Nila, Chief Public Relations Officer of Central Railway, stated that the damaged section was cleared for train movement by 7:58 AM with a restricted speed limit of 30 km/h. Meanwhile, local trains were diverted to the fast line from Matunga station to minimise inconvenience.
The Central Railway’s main line, connecting south Mumbai with the eastern suburbs and parts of Thane and Raigad districts, is crucial for daily travel for hundreds of commuters.
