Mumbai Local Train Block: The Central and Western Railways have issued an advisory for passengers, announcing multiple blocks that will affect local train services this weekend. The Central Railway will carry out a special traffic and power block for pre non-interlocking work as part of the Karjat Yard remodelling project, while the Western Railway has announced a four-hour jumbo block for maintenance work.

Mumbai Local Block: Central Railway Block For Karjat Yard Work

According to officials, the Central Railway’s special traffic and power block is scheduled between October 11 and October 14. The block will take place in the Palasdhari–Bhivpuri Chowk section to facilitate pre non-interlocking work related to the ongoing Karjat Yard remodelling.

Due to this, several train services will be cancelled, diverted or short-terminated during the block period. The railway authorities have urged passengers to check train schedules before travelling.

- From 12:20 PM on Saturday, October 11, to 7:20 AM on Sunday, October 12

- From 7:20 AM to 6:20 PM on Sunday, October 12

- From 11:20 AM to 2:20 PM on Monday, October 13 and Tuesday, October 14

Mumbai Local Train Sunday Update: Four-Hour Jumbo Block On Western Line

Meanwhile, the Western Railway has planned a four-hour jumbo block on Sunday, October 12, between Borivali and Ram Mandir stations. The block will be carried out on the Up Fast line between Borivali–Ram Mandir and the fifth line between Ram Mandir–Kandivali stations.

Mumbai Local Jumbo Block Timing

The maintenance work will include inspection of tracks, signalling systems and overhead electrical equipment. As per the official statement by the Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, the jumbo block will remain in place from 10 AM to 2 PM.

During this period, some suburban train services will be cancelled, while select Andheri and Borivali trains on the Harbour line will terminate at Goregaon. Passengers have been advised to plan their travel accordingly.
