Mumbai Local Train Update: Local train commuters in Mumbai may face delays and route changes on Sunday due to scheduled megablocks across the Central, Harbour and Western suburban railway lines.
On the Central Railway’s Main Line, a block will be enforced between CSMT Mumbai and Vidyavihar on the UP and DOWN slow lines from 10:55 AM to 3:55 PM. During this time, UP slow trains departing from Ghatkopar between 10:19 AM and 3:52 PM will be diverted to the UP fast line between Vidyavihar and CSMT. These trains will make halts at Kurla, Sion, Matunga, Dadar, Parel and Byculla stations.
On the Harbour Line, services between Panvel and Vashi on both UP and DOWN routes will be suspended from 11:05 AM to 4:05 PM, except on the Port line. Special trains will operate on the CSMT–Vashi section during the block. Trans-Harbour services will remain available between Thane and Vashi/Nerul, while Port line operations will continue without disruption.
On the Western Railway, a five-hour block will be in place on the slow lines between Santacruz and Goregaon from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM to allow maintenance work on tracks, signalling and overhead wires.
Commuters are advised to check updated train schedules before travel.
In separate news, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Mumbai on June 15 and 16, forecasting heavy rain in isolated parts of the city and suburbs. Light showers were recorded overnight, and more intense rainfall is expected to continue until June 17. The city may see temperatures ranging between 25 degrees Celsius and 31 degrees Celsius. A high tide of 4.49 metres is expected at 2:45 PM today, raising the risk of waterlogging, especially in low-lying areas. With rain and high tide coinciding, commuters are advised to remain cautious as localised flooding and travel disruptions may occur during peak hours.
