Mumbai Rain: The continuous rainfall in Mumbai has led to waterlogging on the railway tracks in several regions, leading to inconveniences for the commuters. The authorities stated that the waterlogging on railway tracks caused a delay in the operation of several trains. It further informed that most of the local trains are running 15-20 minutes late, further advising the passengers to follow the guidelines and plan their travel accordingly to avoid any inconveniences. Earlier on Friday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) stated that several districts of Maharashtra are likely to receive light to heavy rainfall till August 20.

Mumbai Rain: Several local trains are running late

- Rail officials informed that the trains are operating with a delay of about 15 minutes on the Central Railway line, leading to inconveniences to the commuters on the route. While providing details, it stated that waterlogging between Kurla and Dadar stations has led to the delay in the operation.

- Rail officials stated that the trains are running late by 15 to 20 minutes on the Harbour line. Apart from this, the trains belonging to Western Railway are also operating late by 10 to 15 minutes. The authority stated that the waterlogging at Chunabhatti station has massively affected the train services.

- The officials stated that the sudden surge in the water level on tracks has led to the disruption, further advising the commuters to plan their travel accordingly to avoid any inconveniences.

Mumbai Rain: Waterlogging in several areas

- Mumbai police stated that the rainfall is likely to lead to waterlogging in several key regions, leading to slow vehicular movement. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), it advised the residents to limit their unnecessary outings.

- “Mumbai is experiencing heavy rainfall with an Orange Alert in effect. Waterlogging and reduced visibility have been reported in several areas. Mumbaikars are advised to avoid non-essential travel and to exercise caution while venturing out. Police have been instructed to be on high alert, and Mumbai Police is alert and ready to help Mumbaikars. In case of any emergency, dial 100 / 112 / 103,” Mumbai police stated in its post.
