Mumbai Local Train Update: Mumbai suburban trains are set for a major safety upgrade following the tragic Mumbra incident that claimed the lives of five passengers. The Ministry of Railways has announced plans to install closed-door systems on suburban trains to prevent passengers from falling off moving trains.

According to news agency ANI, a prototype of a closed-door local is ready and will soon be put to a pilot run. This comes months after eight people fell from moving trains, leaving five dead.

- Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav confirmed that Mumbai local trains equipped with automated doors are expected to begin operations from December.
