Mumbai Metro Line 3 (Aqua Line) is all set to open its final phase on October 8 (Wednesday). The line runs from Science Centre in the north to Cuffe Parade in the south, covering 11 key stations in South Mumbai. It will be the city’s first underground metro line, also known as the Colaba-Bandra-Seepz line.

The first stretch of Mumbai Metro Line 3 was inaugurated in October last year, connecting Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) to Aarey. The latest extension links business hubs, residential areas, and prominent historical landmarks. The fully operational Aqua Line spans 33.5 km from Aarey Colony in the north to Cuffe Parade in the south, featuring 27 stations, all underground except the Aarey depot.

Mumbai Metro Line 3: Ticket Price
Mumbai Metro Line 3 fares are structured by distance: commuters travelling up to 3 km will pay Rs 10; 3-12 km, Rs 20; 12-18 km, Rs 30; and 18-24 km, Rs 40. Longer journeys are priced at Rs 50 for 24-30 km and Rs 60 for 30-36 km.
It is not applicable to the current stretch of Metro 3, fares for journeys exceeding 42 km are capped at Rs 80. Commuters can also enjoy a seamless travel experience using the National Common Mobility Card (NCMC), Paper QR tickets, or WhatsApp e-tickets.
Mumbai Metro Line 3: Key Interchange
Key interchanges along Metro 3 will integrate the line with Mumbai’s existing transport network, including stops at Mumbai Central, CSMT, and Churchgate for suburban railways, and Marol Naka for Metro Line 1. The line also provides direct connectivity to Domestic (T1) and International (T2) airports.
