Mumbai Metro Line 3 from Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) to Acharya Atre Chowk in Worli became operational on Saturday, providing major relief to the residents of these areas by cutting the travel time significantly and reducing the traffic congestion. The metro authority received a positive response from the commuters, as around 26,000 people used the metro line on the first day of its operation. The surge in passengers is significant, as only 15,000 people had used the metro on May 3, when its operations were only up to BKC.

MMRCL Collaborates With Mall

Apart from this, the metro authority has been introducing multiple new ways to promote public transport among the citizens of the capital city of Maharashtra. Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL) had announced its collaboration with a mall to boost footfalls.

“As part of our commitment to seamless travel, we have joined hands with Phoenix Palladium Mall, Lower Parel, to offer a free shuttle service from Acharya Atre Chowk (Worli Naka) Metro Station to the mall, enhancing last-mile connectivity,” an MMRCL official was quoted as saying by the Hindustan Times.

The authority will operate 244 daily metro trains on the route using a total of eight trains. The total travel time to cover the entire distance is estimated to be 15-20 minutes. Trains will run at a frequency of every 6 minutes and 20 seconds.
