The Mumbai Metro faced a major disruption on Lines 2A (Dahisar East–DN Nagar) and Red Line 7 (Dahisar East-Andheri East) due to a technical glitch on Sunday. Due to the technical issue, the train operation slowed down on Sunday evening, causing delayed services and overcrowding in coaches across stations.

The Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Limited (MMMOCL) informed about the glitch in an advisory. The MMMOCL urged passengers to plan their travel accordingly due to potential delays.

According to the Mumbai Metro, operation of metro trains on both 2A and 7 lines is delayed due to this technical problem.

MMMOCL took to X and said, "Due to a temporary technical issue, services on Line 2A and Line 7 are running with delays. We regret the inconvenience caused and appreciate your patience. Our teams are working at full speed to restore normal service at the earliest."

Commuters took to social media to complain as they were left stranded at various stations. Mid-Day quoted a commuter named Rajas Pitale saying there was a prolonged delay on Metro Line-2A. Pitale added that his train had been stuck at Mogra Station for over 30 minutes, with 'signs of a technical snag flashing inside the coach'.

Commuter Manoj Bhawnani added, "Massive delay on Mumbai Metro 2A due to an unknown glitch. No announcement regarding delays on platforms or even before buying tickets."
