Mumbai News: A 27-year-old man was arrested by Mumbai police on Sunday for allegedly following a woman and flashing her inside a shared taxi in South Mumbai.

The incident took place on November 30 but was only reported to authorities on Wednesday after the victim shared her experience on social media. According to police officials, the woman had taken a shared taxi to a railway station when the suspect sat next to her and committed the obscene act.

According to a Indian Express report, the victim did not raise the alarm at the time due to fear of the accused but later confided in a friend about her ordeal. The police suspect that the man had been following the woman prior to getting into the same taxi.

Following the registration of the case, police teams began searching for the suspect. They managed to locate his brother, who was brought in for questioning. This led them to identify the accused as Dindayal Motiram Singh, originally from Uttar Pradesh and residing in Sion Koliwada.

A police team then visited Singh's residence, where he was arrested early on Sunday.

In separate news, a 25-year-old man, Dikshit Vinod Rajput, was killed after being run over by an electric bus in Mumbai's Govandi area on Saturday night. Rajput was riding his motorcycle when the incident occurred at Shivaji Nagar junction. He suffered a severe head injury and was rushed to Rajawadi Hospital, where he was declared dead. Police arrested the bus driver, Vinod Aabaji Rankhambe, and conductor Avinash Vikramrao Gite under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) Act. Investigations are ongoing.
