Mumbai Accident: A bus crashed with a tractor and tumbled into a ditch near the Mumbai Expressway, killing five passengers and injuring 30 others. Police stated the collision occurred during the night between Monday and Tuesday. The injured were promptly sent to a local hospital for treatment.
According to officials, the bus was taking devotees from Kesar village in Dombivli to Pandharpur in Maharashtra when it crashed. The collision created huge traffic congestion on the Mumbai-Lonavala lane of the Mumbai Expressway. A crane was used to rescue the bus, and traffic resumed three hours later.
The bus crashed with the tractor and plunged down a gorge around midnight.
DCP Vivek Pansare told reporters that a bus carrying 42 passengers from Dombivli collided with a tractor at Adne village on its route to Pandharpur. He said the injured were brought to a neighbouring hospital, and three of them were in severe condition.

In another incident, a multi-vehicle crash on the Mumbai-Nashik Expressway near Thane left at least 15 persons wounded. The incident happened only days after another sad occurrence in Byadagi Taluk, Haveri district, Karnataka, in which 13 persons were killed and four more were injured. The earlier collision occurred at about 3:45 AM, when a van carrying 17 passengers collided with a stalled truck on National Highway 48, popularly known as the Pune-Bengaluru Highway.
In the Karnataka tragedy, 11 people died on the scene, while two more died from their injuries at a local hospital. According to Superintendent of Police Anshu Kumar Srivastava, the victims were returning from Chincholi Mayamma Devasthana and traveling to their home village of Yemehatti in Shivamogga district. The speeding vehicle collided with the parked lorry from behind, resulting in the deadly collision.
