Mumbai Dog Attack: A woman was attacked by a stray dog on Thursday afternoon in Mumbai’s Old MHB Colony, Borivali West. The incident has once again raised concern among residents over the growing number of stray dog attacks in the area.
According to residents and police, the woman was walking along the street when a stray dog suddenly ran towards her and bit her on the leg. She screamed in pain as locals rushed to her aid. The injured woman was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where she is receiving treatment and is reported to be in stable condition.
CCTV footage from the colony captured the entire incident, showing the dog attacking the woman from behind. The video has since gone viral on social media, sparking discussions about public safety.
In separate news, a woman wanted in connection with a 2020 murder case in Maharashtra’s Palghar district was arrested from Mumbai after evading the police for over five years, officials said on Sunday.

The accused, identified as 27-year-old Dolrin Afrin Ahmed Khan from Nallasopara, had allegedly strangled 23-year-old Pradeep Dayashankar Rai to death in Arnala on February 12, 2020. Police said she later staged the crime scene to make it appear as a suicide. Preliminary investigation indicated a financial dispute between the two as the motive.
An FIR was filed under Sections 302 and 201 of the IPC. Since Khan had gone missing, police filed a chargesheet under Section 299 of the CrPC, allowing proceedings in her absence. Following months of surveillance, officers traced her to Kandivali and arrested her on October 10. She has been handed over to Arnala police for further inquiry.
