Mumbai Traffic Advisory: The Mumbai traffic police have announced traffic restrictions around Mount Mary Church in Bandra West in anticipation of the Mount Mary Fair, which begins on Sunday and runs until September 16. This popular event attracts thousands of devotees to the church.

Mumbai: Mount Mary Closed For Vehicles

From 6 am to 11 am during the fair, Mount Mary Road will be closed to all vehicles, except for local residents with special car passes and emergency vehicles. Additionally, Kane Road will operate as a one-way street from its junction with Mount Mary Road.

Pereira Road will also be one-way, while St John Baptista Road will be closed to all vehicles, except for local residents with permits.

Mumbai Mount Mary Fair: Parking Restriction

Parking and stopping on both sides of Mount Mary Road, Pereira Road, Kane Road, Hill Road, Carmel Road, Chapel Road, John Baptista Road, St Sebastian Road, Rebello Road, Peter Dias Road and Paul Road will not be allowed, except for quick passenger pick-ups or drop-offs, according to an official statement.

Motorists are urged to plan their journeys accordingly to avoid disruptions during this busy period.

In a separate incident, a major fire broke out at the Times Tower, a seven-storey commercial building in Mumbai, early on Friday. The blaze started around 6.30 am in the Kamala Mill compound, located in Lower Parel, according to officials from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

The fire, categorised as a level 2 incident, prompted the deployment of nine fire engines and other firefighting units. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported so far. The fire was confined to the electric duct running from the 3rd to the 7th floor of the 14-storey glass-fronted building, officials confirmed.
