Mumbai Traffic Advisory: Mumbai is gearing up to witness heavy traffic congestion on Thursday, with several events lined up throughout the day. The day will start with Durga Puja immersions, followed by Dussehra celebrations, and end with annual rallies of Uddhav Thackeray and Eknath Shinde in the evening.
In anticipation of heavy congestion, the Mumbai Traffic Police have announced special arrangements, including diversions and no-parking zones in several parts of the city, which will be in effect from 9 AM to 11 PM on October 2. Apart from this, more than 16,500 constables and approximately 2,900 officers, along with personnel from various special units, will be deployed across the city to manage the Dusshra rallies and Durga Puja idol immersion processions on October 2, news agency PTI reported.
Diversions Announced For Vehicles Around Dadar
- Vehicles on SVS Road between Siddhivinayak Mandir Junction and Kapad Bazar Junction will be rerouted via SK Bole Road, Agar Bazar, Portuguese Church, and Gokhale Road.
- Vehicles coming from SK Bole Road, Agar Bazar, Portuguese Church, and Gokhale Road will be diverted through LJ Road, Gokhale Road, and Steel Man Junction.
- Vehicles on Lt Dilip Gupte Road will be rerouted towards LJ Road via Raja Badhe Junction, while vehicles at Gadkari Chowk heading towards Keluskar Road (South) will be rerouted through M. Raut Marg.
- On Bal Govindas Marg, westbound traffic from Padmabai Thakkar Mar via Senapati Bapat Marg will be directed towards Manorama Nagarkar Marg.
- Vehicles moving on Dadasaheb Rege Road between Senapati Bapat Statue and Gadkari Junction will be redirected to LJ Road, Gokhale Road, and Ranade Road.

- SVS Road (From Siddhivinayak Mandir Junction up to Yes Bank)
- Keluskar Road (South) and (North), Dadar
- MB Raut Road (From its junction with S.V.S. Road), Dadar
- Pandurang Naik Marg (M. B. Raut Road), Dadar.
- Dadasaheb Rege Marg (From Senapati Bapat Statue up to Gadkari Junction), Dadar
- Lt Dilip Gupte Marg (From Shivaji Park Gate No. 4 up to Shitaladevi Temple Junction)-
- NC Kelkar Marg (From Gadkari Junction up to Hanuman Temple Junction), Dadar
- LJ Road, Rajabade Junction to Gadkari Junction

No Entry And Traffic Diversions In THESE Areas
- No entry has been made from SVS Road between Siddhivinayak Mandir Junction and Kapad Bazar Junction, Mahim. Vehicles from Siddhivinayak Junction are advised to head towards SK Bole Road, Agar Bazar, Portuguese Church, and Gokhale Road.
- No entry from Raja Badhe Chowk Junction up to Keluskar Marg (North) Junction, Dadar.
- Vehicles can take LJ Road, Gokhale Road, and Steel Man Junction, then continue on Gokhale Road.
- No entry for southbound traffic on Lt Dilip Gupte Road from its junction at Pandurang Naik Marg. Vehicles can proceed from Raja Badhe Junction towards LJ Road.
- No entry from Gadkari Chowk Junction up to Keluskar Road (South), Dadar. Vehicles can take the MB Raut Marg instead.
- No entry from Bal Govindas Marg westbound between Padmabai Thakkar Marg Junction (via Senapati Bapat Marg) and LJ Marg. Vehicles will be diverted to Manorama Nagarkar Marg.
- No entry from Dadasaheb Rege Road between Senapati Bapat Statue and Gadkari Junction. Vehicles will be diverted to LJ Road, Gokhale Road, and Ranade Road.
The Mumbai Traffic Police has urged commuters to follow these guidelines and avoid unnecessary outings to minimise inconvenience.
