Mumbai Weather: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rain in Mumbai on Thursday and Friday, September 4 and 5. The weather body has issued a yellow alert in this regard. At present, the city is witnessing traffic snarls on key stretches making the situation difficult for commuters. Roads in Dadar, Sion, Andheri, Kurla, Chembur areas have been submerged and local train schedules have been disrupted. BEST bus routes have been changed in many places due to overnight rains.

"Mumbai will experience moderate rains from September 4 to 8, 2025, as a low-pressure area moves westward from Odisha. Rain will peak on Friday and Saturday, with 100-120 mm expected over the weekend accumulated. Areas north of Mumbai and South Gujarat will see the heaviest downpours, with waterlogging and traffic disruptions possible. The IMD has issued an orange alert for the region, and rains will ease by Sunday. Stay informed and avoid travel in flood-prone areas," said a solo weather forecast on X.

Maharashtra Disaster Management Authority has said that intense rain activity will continue in the next 24 to 48 hours. The administration has appealed to the citizens in low-lying areas to be careful and to migrate to a safer place if necessary. NDRF teams have been kept ready.
