Nagpur Sex Racket: In a major crackdown, Nagpur’s Social Security Department has exposed a prostitution racket operating under the guise of a beauty salon. Authorities have arrested the prime accused and rescued two women during the raid. The action was carried out under the ongoing “Operation Shakti" drive.

The raid was carried out by the Nagpur police on Wednesday evening at “Look Book by Inara Unisex Salon" situated in Mangalam Apartment, Sitaburdi.

The kingpin has been identified as the salon’s owner, Deepa Godde. Her alleged aid, Pooja Josh, however managed to escape from the scene and remains at large. The rescued women have been placed under protective custody. The police have recovered Rs 40,000 in cash and a mobile phone from the prime accused.

As per a News18 report, Godde and Josh lured women into prostitution in exchange for money and gave space for such activities inside the salon.

A case was registered under the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act at Sitaburdi police station. Godde has been handed over to the station for further interrogation. Search operations are underway to nab the absconding co-accused.

“Operation Shakti" initiative will continue with intensified surveillance to dismantle similar networks in the city, police officials said, as per the report.
