Visuals of the Navi Mumbai International Airport have gone viral on the internet, showing its sleek architecture, expansive terminal spaces, and a distinctive lotus-inspired design. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate Phase 1 of the Navi Mumbai International Airport on September 30, Times Now reported.

Highlights Of Navi Mumbai International Airport

The Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) will feature state-of-the-art amenities, advanced green infrastructure and an ultra-fast baggage system.

- With sustainability and efficiency in mind, the NMIA will operate on 37 megawatts of renewable energy, and all on-site vehicles will be electric or powered by alternative fuels.

- The airport will feature an ultra-fast baggage handling system equipped with 360-degree barcode scanning technology. This system is expected to offer one of the best baggage claim experiences globally.

- In view of passenger convenience, NMIA has been strategically designed for multi-modal connectivity via road, rail and water transport.

- Once operational, the NMIA will boost growth, connectivity and opportunities in Maharashtra and beyond.

How Navi Mumbai International Airport Will Benefit Maharashtra?

The NMIA is expected to significantly boost tourist inflow in Maharashtra while strengthening the export potential across key sectors, including pharmaceuticals, textiles, agriculture, and engineering.

“From world-class capacity and multimodal links to real estate growth, tourism, trade and green innovation, NMIA is more than an airport; it’s Maharashtra’s next economic engine,” Times Now quoted an airport official as saying.
