Pune- Jodhpur Train: A new daily Superfast Express train service between Hadapsar in Pune and Jodhpur has been approved by the Ministry of Railways. The announcement was made by Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, who confirmed that train numbers 20495 (Jodhpur to Hadapsar) and 20496 (Hadapsar to Jodhpur) will begin regular operations soon.
The move is expected to ease travel for passengers, especially the Rajasthani population living in Pune and nearby areas. Hadapsar railway station has been chosen as the boarding and arrival point for the service.

Pune-Jodhpur Train Route
The train will stop at key stations like Pali, Marwar, Abu Road, Palanpur, Mehsana, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Vapi, Kalyan, Lonavala and Chinchwad, connecting passengers along the route.
According to a Punekar News report, this development comes after continuous efforts by the Rajasthani Samaj Sangh, a community body that had been demanding daily rail connectivity for several years. According to the organisation’s president, Magaraj Rathi, travel between Pune and Jodhpur will now be more convenient and safer. He added that ticket bookings for the new service will start soon.
Previously, only a weekly train connected the two cities. However, with a large number of people from Rajasthan settled in Pune district, there was growing demand for a daily service. The Samaj Sangh held protests, submitted letters and met officials to push their case. Their campaign received strong political backing from leaders such as Rajasthan MP P.P. Chaudhary, Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Pune MP Murlidhar Mohol, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and Maval MP Shrirang Barne.
At present, nearly 60 to 70 buses run daily between Pune and Jodhpur. Concerns had been raised about road safety due to frequent accidents during bus travel. The new train is expected to offer a safer alternative.
