Pune Metro Metro: In a move to improve first-and last-mile connectivity for commuters, Pune Metro has partnered with TS Switch E-Ride Pvt Ltd to provide e-bike rental service. The service is expected to be up and running in about 1.5 to 2 months. With Pune Metro’s daily ridership now at 160,000 and steadily growing, the new e-bike service will be a welcomed addition.As per Pune Mirror, the service will be available at a rate of Rs 1.5 per minute.

The first phase of this initiative will launch at ten metro stations:

-PCMC

-Sant Tukaram Nagar

-Nashik Phata

-Dapodi

-Shivajinagar

50 e-bikes, branded ‘Switch E-Ride’, will be stationed at these locations.

Pune Metro Update: Proposed Rental Fares

-Rs 1.50 per minute

-Rs 55 per hour

-Rs 110 for 2 hours

-Rs 165 for 3 hours

-Rs 200 for 4 hours

-Rs 305 for 6 hours

-Rs 450 for 24 hours

Pune Metro Update: E-Bike Services Details

Passengers can easily book their ride via an app or QR code, and return the bikes to the same station or a nearby docking centre. The locations for these docking centres will be confirmed following a survey and announced soon.

The e-bikes are designed for convenience, with a top speed of 25 km/h, a capacity for two people (up to 150 kg), and a battery range of up to 80 km on a single charge.

The battery can be swapped in under 5 minutes, and users can track their bikes in real-time. An SOS button is also available through the mobile app for immediate assistance.
