Pune Metro has announced special crowd-management measures for September 25 as the city prepares for large gatherings during Ganesh Visarjan on Anant Chaturdashi.
The Metro has revised entry and exit arrangements at six stations for the entire day on Friday to manage the expected rush and keep incoming and outgoing passenger movement separate.
The stations include PCMC, Deccan Gymkhana, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Park, SNDT, Garware College and Civil Court/PMC. Commuters using these stations will have to follow the changed gate arrangements and directives issued by the Metro personnel.

Key Changes:
At PCMC, passengers will enter through Gates 1 and 4 on the Finolex Chowk side, while Gates 2 and 3 on the PCMC Bhavan side will be used for exits.
At Deccan Gymkhana, Gate 1 on the Vanaj side will serve as the entry point, while Gates 2 and 3 on the Ramwadi side will be used for exits.
For Chhatrapati Sambhaji Park, entry will be through Gates 1, 3 and 4 on the Vanaj side, with Gate 2 on the Ramwadi side designated for exits.
At SNDT, Gates 1 and 4 on the Vanaj side will be used for entry, while passengers will exit through Gate 2 on the Ramwadi side.
At Garware College, entry will be allowed through Gates 1 and 4 on the Vanaj side, with Gate 3 on the Ramwadi side designated for exits.
The arrangements at Civil Court/PMC will be reversed, with passengers entering through Gate 3 on the Ramwadi side and exiting through Gate 1 on the Vanaj side.
Pune Metro To Operate For 41 Hours
Alongside the station-level crowd-control measures, Pune Metro will run continuously for 41 hours during the Anant Chaturdashi period. The extended service is intended to help devotees and residents travelling late at night and during the early hours as immersion processions continue across the city.
The revised gate arrangements will remain in force throughout Friday, September 25. The six stations are anticipated to reopen with normal entry and exit arrangements on Saturday.
Passengers are recommended to check the entry and exit doors before travel and follow signage at stations and instructions from Metro staff. Passengers have also been asked to allow additional time for their journey due to anticipated crowding.
These precautions have been put in place considering the proximity of Ganesh Visarjan, when thousands of devotees are expected to participate in the immersion processions in the city.
