Bengaluru Weather: Bengaluru residents are already feeling the heat of the summer as temperature soared to 33.6 degree Celsius on February 12, the hottest day recorded so far this season. Such temperatures are only witnessed in April. As per the Namma Karnataka Weather on X, the current temperature is three degree Celsius above normal, signalling an early start to summer. Meanwhile, nights remain chilly at 16 degrees Celsius, which is 1.4 degrees Celsius below average.
Weather Patterns Affecting Change
The unseasonal heat could be linked to global weather patterns. Namma Karnataka Weather reports that the ongoing La Nina phenomenon is bringing heavy rainfall to Southeast Asia and northern Australia. This may impact peninsular India within the next 5-6 weeks as sea surface temperatures (SST) rise. Both the maritime continent and southern India are likely to compete for moisture, which could cause sudden changes in rainfall patterns.

As per a Bangalore Mirror report, Dr N Puviarasan from the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) explained the weather and said that the dry weather is expected to continue across Karnataka due to light to moderate easterly and east-southeasterly winds. Fog or mist may appear in some interior areas.
