Pune Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday stated that several districts of Maharashtra, including Pune are likely to receive light to heavy rainfall for the next few days. The weather department stated that apart from rainfall, the ghat region of Pune are also likely to witness thunderstorms and gusty winds. It further stated that the continuous rainfall is likely to provide relief from the scorching heat by reducing the maximum temperature by two to four degrees Celsius. However, the IMD also stated that the rainfall is also expected to lead to situations like waterlogging and power outages.
Pune to witness heavy rainfall: IMD
While providing details, the weather department stated that the city is expected to witness rainfall till August 19; however, the intensity is likely to reduce after that. It further stated that the residents are likely to witness cloudy skies and gentle breeze throughout the day. While the ghat region is expected to witness heavy rainfall, the other parts of the city are likely to witness light to moderate rainfall.

The IMD further stated that while the maximum temperature is likely to be calculated at 26 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is expected to remain around 22 degrees Celsius. It also stated that the temperature is likely to increase by two to three degrees Celsius after August 19. The weather department also stated that the continuous rainfall is likely to lead to waterlogging in several parts of the city.

The weather department also advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences. Apart from this, it also advised the fishermen of the state to reduce their financial activities and maintain a distance from the water bodies to avoid inconveniences. Apart from Pune, several other districts of Maharashtra are also likely to witness rainfall for the next few days.
