Pune News: A man was brutally murdered in Loni Kalbhor, allegedly by his wife and her lover, in a case linked to an extramarital relationship. The victim, Ravindra Kashinath Kalbhor, aged 45, was attacked while he slept at his home in Wadalewasti. The suspects, Shobha Ravindra Kalbhor, 42 and Gorakh Trimbak Kalbhor, 41, were apprehended by the local police within three hours of the incident.

According to a Pune Pulse report, the murder occurred around 2 AM on Monday, April 1. According to police reports, Ravindra was struck on the head with a wooden stick and a stone, resulting in his immediate death. His body was discovered the following morning in a pool of blood.

Investigations revealed that Shobha and Gorakh were engaged in an affair, which Ravindra was aware of. Frequent arguments between the couple led Shobha to temporarily move to her maternal home in Theur with their children. Frustrated by ongoing conflicts, she and Gorakh allegedly plotted to kill Ravindra.

Gorakh, a close friend of Ravindra, frequently visited the victim's home. The two had even bought a car together, with Gorakh lending Ravindra Rs 3.5 lakh. On the night of the murder, Ravindra, having been drinking, fell asleep outside his house. Gorakh took this opportunity to attack him with a spade handle, killing him instantly before fleeing the scene.

Police launched an investigation after discovering the bloodied body on Tuesday morning. Senior Inspector Rajendra Panhale of Loni Kalbhor Police Station led the inquiry. A technical analysis of phone records revealed communication between Shobha and Gorakh before and after the crime, which bolstered the case against them. During questioning, both suspects confessed to the murder.

Authorities have charged the pair and further investigations are ongoing.
