The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, the committee responsible for the construction and management of Ayodhya Ram Mandir have invited conch blowers from Pune to perform during the consecration ceremony on January 22. The temple trust has asked Pune’s renowned conch blower Keshav Shankhnaad Pathak team to play conch shells during the ceremony.
General Secretary Champat Rai sent an invitation letter to the president of the team Nitin Mahajan. The Pune conch blowers will reach Ayodhya on January 18, the day ceremonies in the Ayodhya will begin and perform till January 22 when Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the grand temple.
A total of 111 musicians of the Keshav Shankhnaad team would be travelling to Ayodhya for 'Shankh naad' during the rituals. Excited team members said it was a matter of pride for them to attend the auspicious ceremony.

The conch blowers of Keshav Shankhnaad Pathak come from diverse backgrounds and age groups, ranging from 5 to 85 years old. They are mostly women, who make up 90 per cent of the group. The group has been an essential part of Pune’s festive celebrations, performing at Ganeshotsav and other religious occasions.
The group has amazed and inspired audiences, from the masses at Ganesh Visarjan to prominent figures, such as Home Minister Amit Shah and Champat Rai, the international vice president of VHP and the general secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, when they visited Pune.
Mahajan, the leader of the group, wrote to Rai six months ago, expressing his wish for the Pune conch blowers to represent Maharashtra in Ayodhya. They shared their videos and gave a live demonstration after which they got an official invitation on December 18.
