Thane Metro Line 4 and 4A: Thane Metro Line 4 Update: The first trial runs on Thane Metro Line 4 and 4A have been completed successfully on Monday, marking a milestone for the city’s connectivity. The trial run was done on a 10-kilometre stretch between Cadbury Junction and Kasarvadavali.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik inspected the trial runs.

Talking about the potential benefits of the service, Chief Minister Fadnavis said that the new lines will significantly ease travel for residents of Mumbai and Thane. CM also credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for Maharashtra’s metro momentum, saying that metro projects in Maharashtra have gained strong momentum under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Transport Minister, Sarnaik, also lauded the trial as a ‘historic milestone’ for the connectivity in the region. He said the stretch will provide a faster and safer travel experience for commuters between Thane and Wadala.

Thane Metro Ticket Price

The metro ticket price in Thane metro will range between Rs 17 and Rs 104. The minimum fare of Rs 17 will cover distances up to 2 km, while the maximum fare of Rs 104 will apply for journeys exceeding 31 km.

When Will Thane Metro Line 4 And 4A Open

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) reportedly aims to open the first phase of the metro for passengers by December 2025. The metro stretch is expected to serve over 13 to 14 lakh commuters daily once the operation begins.

Thane Metro Line 4 And 4A: Check Stations, Interchange And Project Value

Metro Line 4 will run from Wadala to Kasarvadavali, covering key areas like Ghatkopar, while Line 4A will connect Kasarvadavali to Gaimukh, stretching 2.7 kilometres with two elevated stations.

The project, valued at approximately Rs 16,000 crore, aims to reduce travel time by 50-75 per cent and benefit lakhs of commuters daily. The stretch will feature four priority stations on Ghodbunder Road, including:
- Gaimukh Junction
- Gaimukh Village
- Kasarvadavali: This station will serve as an interchange point for Metro Line 4 and Line 10
- Vijay Garden

Once operational, Metro Lines 4 and 4A will become part of the longest metro line in India, spanning over 55 kilometres when linked with Line 11.
