Thane News: A startling incident that highlights a grandmother's deep affection has surfaced from Thane in Maharashtra. The parents of a six-day-old girl in Ulhasnagar, sold her for just Rs 90,000. But with incredible courage and insight, the baby's grandmother was able to save her.
The police registered a case and rescued the infant when the grandmother quickly lodged a complaint against her son, daughter-in-law, and the purchasers.
The Gaikwad family, who lived in the Maratha portion of Camp No 4, Ulhasnagar, welcomed a daughter on January 22. Surprisingly, the girl's parents sold her after six days. The grandmother found out the baby was missing when she went to the hospital to see her grand-daughter. When her son Vishal was questioned, he admitted to selling the kid.
When the grandmother heard this, she was saddened. She begged Vishal to return the money and get the baby because she was determined to bring her grandchild back. But Vishal didn't respond, and the grandmother didn't know who the buyer was. Unfazed, she walked straight to the Ulhasnagar Central Police Station and complained, describing the whole incident.
Following her allegation, the police moved quickly to file a case against the girl's parents, the middlewoman, and the family that had purchased the child. The suspects were all taken into custody right away. The Ulhasnagar Police are now looking into why the kid was sold and if the family has ever bought babies before.
