A leopard attack in Pune's Junnar tehsil raised alarm among residents after a pet dog was killed by the big cat. The incident occurred in the Warulwadi area near Narayangaon on Saturday night. The leopard attack was captured on CCTV, heightening concerns over repeated leopard sightings in the region. Villagers, already fearful from previous encounters, are urging the forest department to take immediate action.
The CCTV footage shows the leopard emerging from a dark alley around 11 pm, grabbing the pet dog and fleeing. Despite another dog attempting to chase the wild animal, the leopard managed to escape with its prey.

Local villagers expressed growing anxiety and are demanding that the authorities capture the leopard before any other attacks in the area. The villagers remain on edge, hoping for swift intervention to prevent further incidents.
With the rise in leopard sightings, the Maharashtra forest department had earlier identified Junnar as one of four "potential leopard disaster-prone areas" in Pune district, alongside Ambegaon, Khed and Shirur.
