In a distressing incident, a video from Nashik’s Satpur area has sparked outrage, showing a man dragging a dead stray dog allegedly killed by him behind a motorcycle on a public road.
The video footage of the alleged incident shows the man riding the bike while the animal was dragged along the road with several stray dogs chasing and barking behind.
Police officials said a case has been registered against the accused at Satpur police station, and further investigation is underway.

This shocking incident comes at a time when the Supreme Court recently modified its earlier directive on the handling of stray dogs.
Supreme Court's Order On Stray Dogs
The Supreme Court on August 22 tweaked its August 11 order and said that the stray dogs will be released back to the same area after sterilisation and immunisation, except those infected with rabies or exhibiting aggressive behaviour. The earlier directive by a two-judge bench had banned the release of the canines once picked up by civic bodies.

The court also clarified that strays picked up under its August 11 order would be released back after sterilisation and vaccination, except those suffering from rabies or deemed aggressive.
