Angarki Chaturthi 2026: Sankashti Chaturthi is a very sacred festival devoted to Lord Ganesha. It falls on the fourth day of the Krishna Paksha during every month. If it coincides with a Tuesday, it is considered very auspicious and is known as 'Angaraki Chaturthi'. 'Sankashti' means relief from the clutches of danger or distress. Angarki Chaturthi 2026: Significance
When Sankashti Chaturthi occurs on Tuesday, it is known as 'Angaraki Chaturthi'. This day has immense importance in the Hindu calendar. It is believed that Angaraka performed severe austerities before Lord Ganesha, who was pleased with his devotion and awarded him with his blessings.

Due to the blessings of Lord Ganesha, all the pending works of his followers get accomplished, and their lives get filled with prosperity and bliss.
Angarki Chaturthi 2026: Rituals
To perform the Angarki Chaturthi Vrat, wake up early in the morning and after taking a bath and wear clean red clothes. Clean the worship area and set up an idol of Lord Ganesha. Apply a vermilion tilak on the idol of Lord Ganesha and offer his favourite durva grass, red flowers, incense, and a lamp. Additionally, offer modak or laddus to Ganpati Bappa. Recite 'Om Gan Ganapataye Namaha' throughout the day and read the vrat katha of the Angarki Chaturthi vrat. Keep the fast throughout the day and culminate your vrat in the evening by offering arghya to the moon.
