Akhuratha Sankashti Chaturthi 2023: Devotees fast for Lord Ganesha on Krishna Paksha Chaturthi each month. For those who worship Lord Ganesha, the Sankashti or Sankat Hara Chaturthi Vrat is especially significant. Devotees observe this fast in the hopes of achieving success and good fortune in life. It is believed that by keeping this fast, all suffering would end and serenity would prevail. On this day, people worship Akhurath Maha Ganapati and Durga Peeth. The Ankurtha Sankashti Chaturthi fast will be observed in the Krishna Paksha Chaturthi Tithi of Pausha month on 30th December 2023.

Ankurtha Sankashti Chaturthi 2023: Significance Of This Sacred Day
Having the gaze of the moon has a specific significance on the holy day of Sankashti Chaturthi. Lord Ganesha's devoted followers think that if they pray to their god with devotion, all of their wishes will come true and they will live successful lives. In order to be blessed with children, childless couples also observe the Sankashti Chaturthi vrat.
Ankurtha Sankashti Chaturthi 2023: Rituals/Vrat Vidhi Of This Sacred Fast
- Devotees wake up early on Sankashti Chaturthi day and spend the entire day worshipping Lord Ganesha. In observance of their deity, they keep a diligent fast. A partial fast can also be observed by certain devotees.
- After sighting the moon, the Sankashti puja is performed in the evening. Fresh flowers and Durva grass are offered to the idol of Lord Ganesha. There are also the customary puja rituals of lighting incense and reciting the Vedic mantras. Following this, the devotees read the month-specific "vrat katha."
- The fast is broken in the evening after offering arghya to the moon and worshipping Lord Ganesha.
- As an offering, a special "naivedya" made of modaks and other of Lord Ganesha's favourite foods is additionally prepared.
