Bhai Tika 2025: Significance
Bhai Tika is a special festival that celebrates the bond between brothers and sisters. Brothers who live far away visit their sisters, which makes their relationship even stronger. On this day, sisters put seven-colour tikas on their brothers' foreheads and give them velvet garlands, sele roti, anarsa, chocolates, cashews, raisins, coconuts, candies, and other tasty treats. Brothers give their sisters gifts to receive their blessings. This special festival strengthens the brother-sister relationship. It is said that Lord Yamaraj once saved a man from death because his sister prayed for his long life. Yamaraj also visits his sister on this day.

During Bhai Tika, sisters apply a tilak, a vibrant blend of yoghurt, rice, and vermilion to their brothers' foreheads, bestowing blessings and wishing them well. They prepare customary dishes like sele roti and various sweets for the celebration. In return, brothers pledge to protect their sisters and offer gifts as tokens of gratitude. The festivities commence with sisters rising early to perform rituals and adorn their homes in preparation for their brothers' arrival, which strengthens their bond.
