Chandra Grahan 2025: A total lunar eclipse or blood moon will occur on the night of September 7-8. The Sutak Kaal for this Chandra Grahan will be applicable in India since the natives all across India will be able to witness this celestial phenomenon. According to astrological beliefs, a lunar eclipse or Chandra Grahan directly affects emotions, health and other affairs. In Astrology, this eclipse is also believed to affect pregnant women the most.

During pregnancy, women get a lot of advice on how to make sure their baby is born healthy. Many older people advise pregnant women to stay away from Grahan Kaal, since it can bring bad luck and affect the baby. Science doesn't really support this statement, but astrologers say it's important, showing how strong cultural traditions and old beliefs are.

Below is the list of dos and don’ts that must be followed by pregnant women to escape the negative energy of Chandra Grahan in September 2025:

Chandra Grahan September 2025: Dos And Don’ts For Pregnant Women

- Pregnant women are often advised not to look at a Chandra Grahan with the naked eye. It is considered safer to stay indoors and avoid being outside during the total lunar eclipse.

- Using knives or sharp objects is discouraged during Grahan. According to the ancient Indian tradition, it is believed that cutting fruits or vegetables at this time may affect the unborn child, sometimes linked to deformities.

- Expectant mothers are also advised to avoid wearing metals during the Chandra Grahan. Items like sari pins, hairpins, tight pins or heavy jewellery are believed to create negative influences and attract the malign energies of the Grahan Kaal to the mother and baby.

- Pregnant women must not sleep during Chandra Grahan Kaal. According to traditional beliefs, staying awake is believed to prevent negative energies from affecting the unborn child during this period.

-The sacred Hindu scriptures suggest that pregnant women should sit on a bed made of Durva grass while chanting the Santana Gopala Mantra during the Chandra Grahan as it might offer protection and blessings for a healthy child.

- Pregnant women must also perform a ritual bathing before and after the Chandra Grahan. Make sure to sprinkle some gangajal on yourself and the womb after the end of the total lunar eclipse. This practice might cleanse away negative influences and ensure purity, safety and well-being during pregnancy.

- After the sutak kaal begins, make sure to add Tulsi leaves to the water and food items. Do not consume any eatables or drink any liquid without Tulsi in it during the Grahan Kaal.

Even though scientists say there's no real proof that these beliefs work, many pregnant women still choose to follow them. Since Grahan is believed to mess with the natural order of things, it can cause potential harm. Even if there's no science to back it up, it is still seen as an ideal choice to be careful, protecting the mother and baby with care and trust.
