Holika Dahan 2025: Holi - the vibrant Hindu festival of colours will be celebrated nationwide on March 14, 2025 with immense joy and enthusiasm. The preceding day, March 13, 2025 marks Chhoti Holi, also known as Holika Dahan. This celebration holds significant religious and astrological importance, bringing happiness to many. However, some individuals are advised to avoid witnessing Holika Dahan, as it may have adverse effects on them. Despite this, the festival remains a vibrant and anticipated event, symbolising the triumph of good over evil and welcoming the arrival of spring with colourful festivities.

1. Pregnant Women

Pregnant women are advised to avoid participating in Holika Dahan. It is believed that it can potentially harm the unborn child and cause physical issues for the mother. To ensure a safe and healthy pregnancy, it's recommended that expectant mothers skip this part of the celebrations and focus on other aspects of the Holi festival.

2. Mother-In-Law And Daughter-In-Law

A woman and her mother-in-law are advised to avoid watching Holika Dahan together. According to popular belief, witnessing the burning fire symbolising a woman's body may strain their relationship. To maintain harmony, it's recommended that they skip this part of the celebration together, ensuring their bond remains strong and unaffected by this superstition.

3. Newly Married Women

Newlywed women are advised to avoid watching or participating in Holika Dahan as it is believed to be inauspicious. According to popular belief, witnessing the burning fire may create obstacles in achieving a happy and harmonious married life.

4. Newborn Baby

It's not advisable to take newborn babies to the Holika Dahan site. The smoke, heat and crowds can be hazardous for their delicate health. This precaution helps ensure the baby's well-being and protects them from potential harm.

5. Parents Having A Single Child

Parents with a single child are advised to avoid witnessing or worshiping Holika Dahan. Instead, an elder family member should participate in the ceremony. This is because the location of Holika Dahan is believed to resemble a crematorium, emitting negative energies. By having an elder participate, parents can protect their child from potential harm and misfortune associated with these negative vibes.
