Jyeshtha Month 2025: Jeth, Jyeshtha or Jaishta is the third lunar month of the Hindu calendar and falls around May-June in the Gregorian calendar. It is a month characterised by hot summer weather and religious significance. The term 'Jyestha' connotes "the chief" or "the seniormost," and the corresponding nakshatra (lunar constellation) is governed by Lord Indra, the king of demigods. Jyestha nakshatra is strong and piercing in nature, sometimes it grants leadership qualities and the power to attain higher statuses. Individuals born under it are believed to possess the strength to accomplish what they aim for skillfully and forcefully.

Jyeshtha is a propitious period for most spiritual practices, religious rituals, particularly those of Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu. It is a suitable month for meditation, yoga, and introspection. Many festivals such as Ganga Dussehra, Nirjala Ekadashi, Vat Savitri Vrat, Jyeshtha Purnima and Yogini Ekadashi are observed with faith. These festivals evoke spiritual development and attract positive changes. The month invites charity work, like offering water to the needy and putting earthen pots containing water in public. Pilgrimages and bathing in rivers are also particularly significant during this time, representing purification and greater closeness with the divine.
