Kedara Gowri Vratham 2025: Kedar Gauri Vrat or Vratham is a sacred Hindu festival celebrated on the new moon day during Diwali. Lord Shiva is the focus of devotion during this fast. According to legends, Goddess Parvati kept this fast in order to become married to Lord Shiva. This fast is celebrated on the new moon day of the month of Kartik in North India and on the new moon day of the month of Ashwin in other parts of the country. In the past, this fast began on Ashtami and lasted until the new moon day but in today's time, it is only observed on Amavasya. This year, Kedara Gowri Vratham will be observed on 20th October 2025.

The most auspicious time for Kedar Gauri Vrat is Pradosh Kaal. This year, the auspicious time or muhuratam for Kedar Gauri Vrat will fall from 5:40 PM to 8:00 PM on 20th October 2025.

The union of Shiva and Shakti is symbolised by the Kedar Gauri Vrat, which stands for harmony and balance in life. Kedara Gowri Vratham 2025: Rituals

The Ardhanarishvara form of Lord Shiva, which represents the union of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, is worshipped during the Kedarnath Vrat. During this fast, worship and fasting are especially important. On the bright fortnight, or Bhadrapada Shukla Paksha, this fast should be observed, and a 21-thread garland should be worn. Throughout the day, the devotee should fast and perform the puja with a pure mind.

A Kalash is installed during the Kedarnath Vrat and is embellished with rice and silk fabric. Additionally, 21 threads and gold or other valuable stones are positioned. 21 Following their invitation, Brahmins are worshipped and given gifts. In the puja, kumkum, sandalwood, rice grains, flowers, and tambulam are used.

During the puja, mantras dedicated to Lord Shiva are chanted, and lamps and incense are lit. 21 types of offerings, including coconut, are offered to Lord Shiva. After the puja, Dakshina is given to the Brahmins and Prasad is distributed. Observing this fast brings the blessings of Lord Kedarnath and fulfils all desires.
