Masik Durga Ashtami June 2025: Rituals
A significant ritual conducted on this day is that of ‘Astra Puja’, during which the various weapons of Goddess Durga are venerated in a most pious way. This spiritual/symbolic act is an expression of gratitude to the goddess for protection and blessing. Devotees of Maa Durga observe a rigorous fast, pray during the entire day and perform elaborate pujas like offering flowers, chandan and dhoop every day.
The most significant ritual associated with this day is Kumari Puja, where little girls are worshipped as living embodiments of the goddess’s divine energy. Going to temples and meditating on sacred mantras is deemed particularly blessed on this day. Most devotees chant the Durga Chalisa diligently along with great faith, invoking the blessings of Maa Durga for strength, wealth and spiritual awakening.
