For Hindus, Narasimha Jayanti is a very auspicious event. This was Lord Vishnu's fourth incarnation when he descended to Earth in the form of Narasimha, a lion and half-man. On the fourteenth day of the Shukla Paksha of the Vaishakh month, people celebrate Narasimha Jayanti. This year, Narasimha Jayanti is being observed today, on 21st May 2024.

Hindu texts suggest that Lord Narasimha represents the triumph of good over evil. The significance of Narasimha Jayanti and the magnificence of Lord Narasimha are vividly depicted in these sacred writings. On Narasimha Jayanti, devotees who worship the deity and fast can defeat their adversaries, put a stop to bad luck, and drive negative energies from their lives. One also shields themselves from various illnesses. If devotees offer prayers to Lord Narasimha on this day, they will be blessed with riches, prosperity, courage, and triumph.

Narasimha Jayanti 2024: Rituals/Puja Vidhi Of Narasimha Chaturdashi 

- Numerous rituals, fasting, and prayers are observed on Narasimha Jayanti. Until dusk, devotees fast, breaking their fast only to complete the evening puja honouring Lord Narasimha. 

- Reciting Narasimha mantras, doing Narasimha Puja, reading holy texts like the Bhagavat Puran, and presenting milk, honey, and water to Lord Narasimha are all part of the ceremonies. 

- The spiritual depth of regional festivities is enhanced by cultural events including plays based on the legends of Prahlad and Narasimha, dancing, and bhajans.
