1. Received Parshu From Lord Shiva
The birth name of Parashurama was "Rama." He was a great devotee of Lord Shiva. Satisfied with his deep meditation, Lord Shiva bestowed on him the divine weapon 'Parshu', which was a battle-axe. He got his name Parashurama due to the fact that he possessed this mighty weapon. With the help of the same battle-axe, he conquered unjust rulers.
2. Unique Exemplar Of Devotion To Parents
Parashurama had immense respect and regard for his parents. As per myths, there was one instance where he had to take a tough call to follow his father's orders, but later on, backed by his immense dedication and devotion, he asked a favour from his father and managed to resurrect his mother from the dead. This proves that within his tough shell, he had immense love and respect for his parents.

3. Master Of Arms And Scriptures
Not only was Parashurama a skilled warrior, but he was also a great scholar of the Vedas and the Shastras. Parashurama is known as 'Brahma-Kshatriya', as although he belonged to the Brahmin caste, his skills and actions were like those of a Kshatriya. He had maintained a great balance between martial arts and spirituality. It was he who initiated the martial art practice 'Kalaripayattu' of Kerala, which is considered to be the most ancient form of martial arts.
4. Boon Of Immortality
However, not many are aware that Lord Parashurama is also a member of the Saptarishis and is blessed with immortality. According to the Hindu legends, he is regarded as one of the eight Chiranjeevis, those living beings who are immortal and are still living on Earth even today. It is said that at the conclusion of the Kali Yuga, he will be the Guru or teacher of the tenth incarnation of Lord Vishnu, Kalki, and will teach him how to wield divine weapons.

5. Imparted Knowledge Not Only To Brahmins But Also To Karna
While Parashurama is believed to have taught only Brahmins, he also took Karna, an important figure in the Mahabharata, as one of his students. However, upon finding out that Karna had been lying about his identity, he cursed him. In addition, he taught Pitamah Bhishma and Guru Dronacharya the skills of battle and weaponry. The disciples of Parashurama became renowned warriors.
