Phulera Dooj 2025: The sacred Hindu festival - Phulera Dooj is being celebrated by devotees on 1st March 2025. Additionally, celebrate this day as Radha-Krishna Vivah Utsav as the pious Hindu scriptures - Brahma Vaivarta Purana and Garga Samhita enumerate that both deities got married in the presence of Lord Brahma on this day. Bhandirvan, a sacred site in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, is deeply rooted in the legends of Lord Krishna and Radha Rani. Two prominent sites make Bhandirvan a haven: Radha Krishna Vivah Sthali - where Lord Brahma performed the divine marriage and Vanshivat - where Krishna's enchanting flute-playing summoned Radha Rani and the Gopis for the celestial Maharaas dance. These sites bring the divine love story to life, captivating the hearts of devotees.

Phulera Dooj 2025: Lesser-Known Legend Of Radha Krishna Vivah Lila At Bhandirvan In Vrindavan
According to local legend, the wedding ceremony of Radha Rani and Lord Krishna was conducted by Lord Brahma, who acted as the priest. This intimate ceremony was attended by only 10 million confidential associates of the couple, including sakhis, animals and nature spirits. The union was kept hidden to emphasise the importance of "Parakiya rasa" (love without social boundaries) over "Svakiya rasa" (married relationship).

As described in scriptures like Brahma Vaivarta Purana and Garga Samhita, Nanda Baba brought infant Krishna to Bhandirvan for cow grazing. A sudden storm led to a divine encounter between Radha Rani and Krishna. In her divine form, Shri Radha Rani approached Nanda Maharaj, who handed over the infant to her. As she kissed the infant, a palace appeared and Shri Krishna transformed into a handsome young man. He acknowledged his deep love for Radha Rani and Lord Brahma appeared to perform their wedding ceremony known as Gandharva Vivah.
After the ceremony, Lord Krishna and Radha Rani spent time together in delightful pastimes. Shri Krishna eventually returned to his infant form and promised Radha Rani that they would return to Bhandirvan for their lovable pastimes. Radha Rani then took the infant Krishna back to his mother - Yashoda Maiya.
