Radha Kund Snan 2023: The holy Radha Kund is located in the northwest of Braja, close to Vrindavana. This Kunda is identified as the lake of Radharani by the Gaudiya Vaishnavas. It is regarded as one of the holiest and most auspicious sites. On the Parikrama route, Radha Kund is located close to Govardhan hill, which is the hill that Lord Krishna raised with his little finger. The Shyama Kund and Radha Kund are located next to each other, and many legends surround their origins. The Shyama Kund and Radha Kund ponds are like a peacock's eyes. On the auspicious day of Ahoi Ashtami, devotees bathe in the revered Radha Kund, as it is regarded as extremely auspicious. Married couples who are childless pray to Radharani for her heavenly blessings. During the Krishna Paksha, Radha Kund Snan is celebrated on Ashtami in the month of Kartik. According to Hindu customs, couples who bathe or dip in the Radha Kund on the eve of Ahoi Ashtami are said to be blessed with a child. As a result, hundreds of couples travel to Radha Kund and partake in the sacred dip known as Radha Kund Snan. This year, the sacred Radha Kund Snaan will be marked on 5th October 2023.

Radha Kund Snan 2023: Rituals And Legend Associated With This Sacred Bath

It is auspicious and beneficial to perform the Radha Kund Snan ceremony on Ahoi Ashtami. The observant presents Prasadam, flowers, and pumpkins to the hallowed Radha Kund. It is customary for the devotees to bathe in the Kund at midnight and then in the Shyama Kund.  Following Lord Krishna's defeat of Aristasura, a demon incarnate as a bull, Radha Kund was established. Since the bull is a member of the cow family, it is considered a religious emblem in Hinduism. Radharani and the Gopis therefore claimed that Lord Krishna's slaying of the bull marked a religious offence. It was Radha Rani who asked Krishna to bathe in all the sacred rivers and purify himself. As a result, Lord Krishna collected water from every holy site and brought it to one location to please Radharani.

The location is commonly known as Shyama Kunda because when Krishna struck the earth with his lotus feet, water from all the holy and sacred rivers gathered there. Upon observing this, Radharani dug a second Kund with her bangles next to the Shyama Kunda. All the holy water bodies pleaded with Radha Rani to let them pass into the Kund that she had made. Consequently, Radha Kund was established in this manner. In addition, eight kunjas on the names of the eight main Sakhis of Radha Rani are located on the banks of Radha Kunda.
