On the day of Skanda Sashti, wake up early in the morning, take a bath, and, clad in clean clothes, worship Lord Murugan. Perform the Abhishekam of the Lord using Panchamrit and offer yellow or red flowers, sandalwood paste, turmeric, incense, and a ghee lamp to the Lord. Offer fruits and sweets as Bhog.
