Vaishakh Month 2024: The Hindu month of Vaishakh is equivalent to April or May in the Gregorian calendar. Vaisakha is the second month of the year according to the Indian national calendar. In the Vikram Samvat, Odia, Maithili, Punjabi, Assamese (where it is called Bohag), and Bengali calendars (where it is called Boishakh) calendars, it is the first month. This month falls between the second half of April and the first half of May. This year, the Hindu month of Vaishakh began on 24th April 2024. 

According to the Hindu lunar calendar, Vaisakha, which signifies the second month of the lunar year, starts with the April new moon. The Moon's position on the full moon day, close to the Vishakha constellation (also known as "Nakshatra"), is the source of the month's name. This month is ruled by Madhusudana in the Vaishnava calendar.
