Raahu Kaal is regarded as an unfavorable astrological period, during which it is forbidden to perform any auspicious tasks. The words Rahu and Kaal combine to form the word Rahukaal. The word Kaal denotes time, and Rahu possesses shadow planets. Rahu Kaal, according to Hindu astrology, corresponds to the roughly 90-minute period that occurs daily between sunrise and dusk.
Raahu is said to cover and encircle the mind during the Raahu Kaal, just as it overshadows the planets, making the mind go blank. As a result, mental clarity suffers, and all crucial tasks run the risk of being ruined. The Raahu Kaal is hence viewed as unlucky.

Raahu And Rahu Kalaya
As per sacred Hindu scriptures, Raahu is the originator of the Raahu Kalaya. He is demon Svarbhanu's detached head. Rahu is depicted as having a human head on a serpent's body and riding in a chariot pulled by eight black horses. Rahu also goes by the name Bhayanaka, and in astrology, it is regarded as one of the nine planets which is hostile by nature. Every other planet has a day of the week set aside for it, while Rahu only has 90 minutes each day, which is known as Rahu Kaal. There are certain specific tasks that should not be performed during the Raahu Kalyam in order to escape from Raahu’s negative impacts.
