Indian golfer Aditi Ashok, who entered the final day of the women's golf competition at the Asian Games with a significant seven-stroke lead, had to settle for a silver medal as her fortunes took a tumble on the last day of the event. Despite her earlier dominance, Ashok's final round was filled with ups and downs, resulting in a score of 73, featuring four bogeys and a double bogey, with only one birdie to counterbalance. This performance brought her four-day aggregate score to 17-under 271.

In an impressive turn of events, Thailand's Arpichaya Yubol seized the gold medal with a stellar final round, carding a score of 64. Meanwhile, Korea's Hyunjo Yoo secured the bronze medal with a score of 65.

Aditi Ashok's silver medal marked India's fourth individual medal in golf at the Asian Games. The country previously clinched gold medals in the sport through Lakshman Singh and Shiv Kapur in the 1982 and 2002 editions, respectively.

Additionally, Rajiv Mohta secured a silver medal. In terms of team achievements, the Indian women's golf team, including Pranavi Urs and Avani Prashanth, concluded their campaign in fourth place at the event.

While Aditi Ashok came tantalizingly close to the gold, her performance remains a praiseworthy accomplishment, adding to India's medal tally in golf at the Asian Games.
