Jagran Correspondent, Ghaziabad: The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has approved the layout for Harnandipuram, a new residential township. This project marks the authority's first large-scale township initiative since Madhuban Bapudham was launched nearly two decades ago.

Approved during the GDA board meeting on Thursday, this clears the way for the first phase of development near Rajnagar Extension.

Layout And Phase 1 Land Acquisition

Harnandipuram is planned across a total area of approximately 501 hectares. Phase 1 will cover 47.1612 hectares of acquired land in Bhowapur and Shahpur Nij Morta, with 24.1213 hectares already converted from agricultural to residential land use.

With the layout approved, the GDA will move forward with the Detailed Project Report (DPR) and other technical formalities. GDA Vice President Nand Kishore Kalaal stated that the site will be developed as a planned township rather than a standard residential colony.

Infrastructure, Amenities, And Employment

• Infrastructure: Wide road networks, green spaces, public parks, and underground sewerage and drainage systems.
• Amenities: Golf course, food courts, health centres, educational zones, and smart urban infrastructure.
• Job Generation: Project activities are expected to generate employment for over 1,000 people.

First Big Leap Since Madhuban Bapudham

Ghaziabad has not seen a major planned housing project from the GDA since Madhuban Bapudham began in the 2000s. Harnandipuram is being seen as the city's next major expansion.
