India finished the eighth day with fifteen medals at the Asian Games 2023 including three gold, seven silver, and five bronze in Hangzhou on Sunday, October 1 to remain at the fourth spot in the overall standings.
This was India's best-ever outing on a single day in the history of the continental meet in terms of medals as athletes put up remarkable performances to increase the overall tally to 53 medals.

Avinash Sable created history as he shattered the Asian Games record to become India's first gold medalist in the men’s 3000m steeplechase event.
