Asian Games 2026: India continued its strong start to the continental showpiece as the shooting contingent delivered three more medals on Day 2, with two silver and one bronze coming in the men’s 10m air rifle events.
India first secured silver in the men’s 10m air rifle team event before Himanshu Dhillon won silver and Rudrankksh Patil claimed bronze in the individual competition.
The three medals have taken India’s shooting tally to five medals at the Asian Games 2026.
India’s overall medal tally has also risen to six, with Suchika Tariyal having earlier won bronze in the women’s traditional 60kg mixed martial arts event.
India Win Silver In Men's 10m Air Rifle Team Event
Rudrankksh Patil, Himanshu Dhillon and Parth Mane combined for a team score of 1890.1 points to win the silver medal in the men’s 10m air rifle team event.
China clinched gold with a world-record score of 1899.0 points, improving its previous mark by 0.6 points. South Korea completed the podium with 1884.2 points to take bronze.
Rudrankksh and Himanshu also qualified for the individual final, while Parth missed out after finishing 10th in qualification with 628.3 points.
Himanshu Dhillon Wins Silver, Rudrankksh Patil Takes Bronze
Himanshu Dhillon produced a superb performance in the individual final to claim the silver medal. The 20-year-old finished with 252.4 points, behind China’s Sheng Lihao, who won gold with 254.2 points.
Former world champion Rudrankksh Patil settled for bronze after scoring 230.9 points.
Rudrankksh had started strongly and was involved in a close battle for gold during the early stages. However, a 9.7 in the sixth series allowed Himanshu to move ahead after the youngster produced a 10.6.
Rudrankksh eventually finished third, while Himanshu held on to second place to secure another silver for India.
India’s Shooting Medal Tally Reaches Five
India had opened its Asian Games 2026 shooting campaign with two silver medals in the women’s 10m air rifle events on Sunday.

Elavenil Valarivan, Sonam Maskar and Vidarsa Vinod won silver in the women’s team event, while Elavenil added another silver in the individual competition.
India had won a record 22 shooting medals at the Hangzhou Asian Games, including seven gold, nine silver and six bronze.
The Indian shooters have once again made a strong start in Aichi-Nagoya, with three more medals arriving on Day 2.
