JE Sports Desk:  Lionel Messi, the new Inter Miami signing, was involved in an accident but fortunately escaped a crash with his Audi Q8 in Miami after his car jumped a red light and ran into moving traffic.

The Argentine star footballer was driving the car himself as his vehicle was escorted by Fort Lauderdale police after it went into an intersection.

A video went viral on social media showing Messi running a red light while driving in Florida on July 14. The video showed that the driver of the vehicle coming from the other side was attentive and managed to avoid hitting the footballer's luxury SUV.

Meanwhile, he was spotted on Thursday with his kids shopping at a Publix in South Beach with a variety of items in the cart.

Miami is scheduled to unveil Messi on Sunday, with the player reportedly set to make his debut on July 21 against Cruz Azul in The Leagues Cup.

The FIFA 2022 World Cup winner confirmed on Jun 7 to sign for Major League Soccer (MLC) club Inter Miami in a move that is expected to energize soccer in the United States and South Florida with one of the sporting world's best-known figures.

According to the reports, there was a misunderstanding between Messi and the Chinese airport guards that was resolved soon. He received an expedited visa and successfully played the friendly game against Australia.

Amid all the speculations of Messi's return to his beloved club FC Barcelona, the 8-time Ballon D'or winner decided to go to MLS to stay away from the limelight of European football.
