Paris Olympics 2024: India's ace shooter Manu Bhaker shared a heartwarming message for her mother after she ended her historic Paris Olympics 2024 campaign on Saturday. Manu, who was eyeing her third medal, suffered a heartbreaking finish as she lay at the fourth position in the women's 25m pistol event on Saturday. She gave the top three shooters a run for their money and it all came down to one shot.

But at the same time, Manu had a dream run at the ongoing mega-event for any Indian athlete as she won two bronze medals in the 10m air pistol individual and the mixed team events. During an interaction with the broadcasters after the event, she talked about her disappointment with the result and her dreams about the ongoing Paris Olympics 2024. She also shared a heartwarming message for her mother and thanked her for the sacrifices that she made to help her come out of her comfort zone.

She also wished a very good and healthy life for her mother and she also wanted her to never leave her side ever.

"The message I want to send to her is, thank you so much for all the sacrifices that you made because of which I was able to come out of the shadows of so many people. And I love you so much, and I hope you have a very good healthy life, a long life, and you will be with me for as many years as possible," she told broadcasters.

How did Manu Bhaker perform in the 25m pistol event?

It was a grilling summit clash for all the eight finalists as a score of 10.2 or higher was considered as the best score. Manu Bhaker had a flying start but she fell to the sixth position since she could hit just two shots in the first series. She also bounced back brilliantly in the second series as she hit four out of five and then climbed to the fourth position. She then got four shots in the third series and finished in the second position with four other shooters.

She then got three shots in the first series of the elimination round and thus finished in the fifth position. She then hit the perfect 5 and climbed to the third position and was just two spots away from reaching the pole position. She then stayed tied at the second position after series 6 by hitting 4 shots. In the seventh series, Manu had the lead for a while but then she let it go and slipped to the second position.

She had hit only two shots in eight series and then reached the shoot-off with Hungary's Veronica Major but missed twice in the shootout round and couldn't finish at the third position as she fell short of 1 shot.
