GTA 6 has gone from being a game to a full-on pop culture moment. Now that Rockstar has let the first trailer out, people can't stop chattering about the sun-soaked playground of Leonida (yep, Florida) and the secrets buried in its story. Will we catch hints from Trevor's messy backstory or hear whispers of Tommy Vercetti's old kingdom? Here are five franchise callbacks we're itching to spot in Vice City 2.0.

1. Trevor’s Florida Mayhem: Flashbacks or Chaos Cameos

In GTA V Trevor makes a quick joke about a trip to Florida. Yep, he claims to have hung out in Leonida at one point. Rockstar, though, left that tale hanging. So, what if 6 drags his Florida ghosts back into the spotlight?

  • Possible flashback mission involving meth labs in the Everglades

  • Side quest with Trevor pulling a full-on “Florida Man” moment

  • Aged-up Trevor cameo tied to Lucia or Jason's story arc

2. CJ’s Family Tree: Grove Street Meets Vice City

At San Andreas' finish, Carl CJ Johnson finally lifts the family curse. Or so we thought. Now, picture GTA 6 dropping this line:

  • A new character in GTA 6 casually mentions: “My dad used to roll with Grove Street.”

  • CJ’s child trying to escape gang legacy in a new city

  • Subtle nods to Los Santos through graffiti, audio logs, or clothing

This is crossover gold, and a subtle link to GTA: San Andreas would hit hard with longtime fans.

3. FIB vs. IAA: Government Conspiracy Reloaded

The bitter feud between the FIB and IAA was a standout thread in GTA IV and V; dragging it into GTA 6 promises richer drama. Picture Jason and Lucia trapped between the squabbling agencies, tasked with:

  • Jason and Lucia caught between feuding agencies

  • High-stakes missions involving surveillance, betrayal, and cover-ups

  • A full-on government conspiracy arc

It’s time to bring back the black suits, secret bunkers, and helicopters.

4. Lazlow’s Return: From Radio Legend to NFT King?

If one familiar voice absolutely needs to come back, it has to be Lazlow Jones. Once a wise-cracking DJ and later an unwilling reality-show host, he has been the lovable-cringe megaphone of GTA for years.

  • Could return with an unhinged Vice City podcast

  • Might be running an NFT scam or digital cult

  • Could offer satirical takes on social media influencers and tech culture

5. Tommy Vercetti’s Legacy: Power, Politics, or Ruin

Back in the eighties Tommy Vercetti ran Vice City. Fast-forward to 2025-what shape is his throne in now?

  • His descendants could be corrupt politicians or cartel leaders

  • A fallen empire storyline, with remnants of the Vercetti gang scattered across Leonida

  • Even just a statue, mural, or Easter egg could send OG fans into nostalgia mode

Whether he’s dead, in prison, or a silent puppet master, Tommy deserves a nod.

The GTA Universe Is Ready for a Crossover

The Grand Theft Auto universe is full of chaotic, tragic, and hilarious stories. Bringing back these characters and plotlines won’t just reward longtime fans—it could make GTA 6 the ultimate crossover in open-world gaming history.
